Why Is a Certified Electrician Mandatory?
Solar panel electrical work in Latvia may only be carried out by a certified electrician with the appropriate qualifications. Reasons:
- Grid operator requirements — the micro-generator connection application requires an electrical installation compliance certificate, which can only be signed by a certified specialist
- Safety — solar panels produce a dangerous DC voltage even in wet weather and even when the inverter is switched off — work must be carried out with knowledge of safety procedures
- Warranty — electrical work not carried out by a certified electrician may void the inverter or panel warranty
