What Affects the Solar Panel Price?
A solar panel system price is not uniform — it is made up of several components, and every project is different. The main factors that determine the final cost:
System capacity (kWp)
The larger the system, the higher the total price, but the lower the cost per kWp. Optimal capacity is determined by your energy consumption.
Panel quality
Higher-efficiency monocrystalline panels cost more but take up less roof space and generate more energy.
Inverter type
A string inverter is less expensive. A hybrid inverter costs more but allows a battery to be added later with no extra installation costs.
Battery storage
A battery significantly increases the system price, but provides energy independence and backup power.
Roof type and condition
A complex roof (steep pitch, multiple surfaces) or necessary improvements increase installation costs.
Electrical installation
Older homes may require additional electrical work. We assess this during the site survey.

The solar panel payback period in Latvia averages 6–9 years without support and 4–7 years with government subsidies. The calculation is based on:
- Electricity price: ~€0.20–0.28/kWh (2025)
- Annual energy generated: ~950–1,100 kWh/kWp (depending on location)
- System lifespan: 25–30 years
Example: An 8 kWp system generates ~7,600 kWh per year. At €0.22/kWh that is ~€1,670 in annual savings. With a system cost of €7,500, the payback period is ~4.5 years. After payback the system continues for 20+ years generating pure savings.
